Within the framework of the RE-DIRECTION Pilot short-term courses on inclusivity, digital competences, and sustainability were implemented
Shota Meskhia Zugdidi State University has been involved in the Erasmus+ Capacity Building project RE-DIRECTION – Redefining Higher Education in a Digital Context, while Promoting a Common, Inclusive, and Sustainable Framework Based on EU Best Practices and Policy Recommendations. Within the framework of the project, pilot short-term courses on inclusivity, digital competences, and sustainability were implemented during the Fall Semester of the 2025–2026 academic year.
The academic staff of Zugdidi University developed the course “Diversity and Participation.” Students were given the opportunity to register on the project’s LMS platform and select their preferred courses, including “Digital Information Skills,” “Inclusive Communication for All,” “Promoting Sustainable Development,” and “Diversity and Participation.”
Registered students were able to access the course content in both English and Georgian, ensuring equal access to learning materials and fostering an inclusive educational environment.
Within the framework of the courses, students completed assignments aimed at assessing both the acquisition of theoretical knowledge and the quality of practical understanding and analysis of the discussed topics.
The piloting process of the short-term courses included a structured feedback phase, designed to support the further refinement and development of course content, methodology, and organizational components based on participants’ evaluations and recommendations.
Upon successful completion of the course requirements, participants are awarded a certificate confirming the fulfillment of the program requirements.
The short-term courses contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the RE- DIRECTION project and support the strengthening of digital transformation in higher education through the integration of inclusivity, diversity, and sustainability into institutional practices.
